Witnesses remember the quiet, the measured breath, and the sudden certainty that someone had already understood the room. As a kenku druid, she reads weather, root, spoor, and silence as parts of one living language. When trouble closes in, the wild answers with thorn, claw, mist, and patient renewal.
Copper Echo learned the foundations of the craft from an exile who never gave a true name, who demanded three answers before offering any lesson: who would benefit, who would pay the price, and what would remain when the excitement ended.
Borrowed sounds are arranged into meanings that belong to no one else. That inheritance shaped her habits but never dictated them. Copper Echo still has little mercy for those who call destruction progress, and keeps a cracked brass compass as a reminder of the first time good intentions proved insufficient.
The turning point came when the ash-robed judges of the old court arrived under legal seal and began removing people whose names had quietly vanished from the district rolls.
Officials called it an accounting correction. Copper Echo called it a hunt. She broke the first convoy before dawn, led seven prisoners through service tunnels beneath the ward, and left the empty wagon in the magistrate's courtyard. From that morning onward, every reward posted for her capture also became a warning to those who might otherwise have stood alone.
Recently, Copper Echo uncovered a map showing a road beneath the palace. The clue connects the old arrests to a chamber beneath the city where a forgotten agreement is still being enforced. Now the trail has narrowed to one dangerous purpose: find the road erased from every official map. Copper
