Opis

Among the orchard ruins of Caer Lume, Korren Ashhand is known less by reputation than by the moment after danger passes. Witnesses remember the quiet, the measured breath, and the sudden certainty that someone had already understood the room. As a half-orc warlock, he draws power from a bargain whose smallest clauses are still unfolding.
When trouble closes in, strange signs and borrowed fire answer when ordinary weapons fail.
Korren Ashhand learned the foundations of the craft from a patient archivist with ink-stained hands, who demanded three answers before offering any lesson: who would benefit, who would pay the price, and what would remain when the excitement ended. Hard-won restraint matters more than the expectations of strangers. That inheritance shaped his habits but never dictated them. Korren Ashhand still records every favor granted by the unseen patron and intends to settle the account, and keeps a blackened silver button as a reminder of the first time good intentions proved insufficient.
The turning point came when the ash-robed judges of the old court arrived under legal seal and began removing people whose names had quietly vanished from the district rolls.
Officials called it an accounting correction. Korren Ashhand called it a hunt. He broke the first convoy before dawn, led seven prisoners through service tunnels beneath the ward, and left the empty wagon in the magistrate's courtyard. From that morning onward, every reward posted for his capture also became a warning to those who might otherwise have stood alone.
Recently, Korren Ashhand uncovered a relic stolen from a grave that was never opened. The clue connects the old arrests to a chamber beneath the city where a forgotten agreement is still being enforced. Now the trail has narrowed to one dangerous purpose: find the road erased from every official map. Korren Ashhand has accepted that the next door may close forever once crossed. Even so, the equipment is ready, the route is memorized, and one place beside the fire has been left empty for whoever returns.
