Description

Among the wind-cut terraces of High Rusk, Bramblefoot
Fizzwick is known less by reputation than by the moment after danger passes. Witnesses remember the quiet, the measured breath, and the sudden certainty that someone had already understood the room. As a halfling sorcerer, he carries magic that answers emotion before language. When trouble closes in, raw power bends toward instinct, blood, and memory.
Bramblefoot Fizzwick learned the foundations of the craft from the last keeper of a roadside shrine, who demanded three answers before offering any lesson: who would benefit, who would pay the price, and what would remain when the excitement ended. Small size has always made courage easier to recognize and arrogance easier to exploit. That inheritance shaped his habits but never dictated them. Bramblefoot
Fizzwick still works constantly to ensure the gift never chooses its own target, and keeps a tiny glass vial filled with red sand as a reminder of the first time good intentions proved insufficient.
The turning point came when the wardens of a prison absent from every map arrived under legal seal and began removing people whose names had quietly vanished from the district rolls. Officials called it an accounting correction. Bramblefoot
Fizzwick called it a hunt. He broke the first convoy before dawn, led seven prisoners through service tunnels beneath the ward, and left the empty wagon in the magistrate's courtyard.
From that morning onward, every reward posted for his capture also became a warning to those who might otherwise have stood alone.
Recently, Bramblefoot Fizzwick uncovered a sealed letter written in a dead person's hand. The clue connects the old arrests to a chamber beneath the city where a forgotten agreement is still being enforced. Now the trail has narrowed to one dangerous purpose: expose the bargain hidden beneath the city charter. Bramblefoot Fizzwick has accepted that the next door may close forever once crossed. Even so, the equipment is ready, the route is memorized, and one place beside the fire has been left empty for whoever returns.
