Purpose is no longer an order received, but a question answered each day. That inheritance shaped his habits but never dictated them. Copper Psalm still has learned that the most costly spell is often the one left unread, and keeps a copper coin pierced through the center as a reminder of the first time good intentions proved insufficient.
The turning point came when a cult that listens beneath locked floors arrived under legal seal and began removing people whose names had quietly vanished from the district rolls.
